Custom Leather Belts: What They Cost and What Adds to the Price

A custom leather belt can mean a plain belt cut to your size or a fully hand-carved one with your name on it. The price difference is large, and the extras add up. Here is what three makers publish.

Prices and wait times in this guide were read from each maker’s own website on 5 October 2026. They change, so confirm with the maker before you order. We are not affiliated with any maker named here, and none paid to be included.

At a glance

  • Range: $64.70 to $300 across the three shops. Most of Molly’s belts are $97.50 to $119.70.
  • Hand-carved: Silverwings’ fully tooled belt is $300, with a 6 to 8 week lead time.
  • Add-ons at Silverwings: initials or a brand $25, names $7 per letter, buckstitching $1 per foot.
  • Check the status: one shop’s belt showed as sold out when we looked.

What adds to the price

Silverwings lists its extras separately, which is useful because it shows where a belt’s price goes:

  • Initials or a brand: +$25
  • A name: $7 per letter
  • Buckstitching: $1 per foot
  • Choice of lace color for the buckstitching

Ask any maker what is and isn’t included in the base price, and what a name, brand or extra tooling costs.

Before you order

  1. Measure the belt you wear now, not your trouser size. Ask the maker how they want it measured.
  2. Ask the width, and whether your buckle will fit it.
  3. Ask the current lead time, and the price with your lettering.
  4. Check the belt is in stock or still taking orders. Made-to-order belts can sell out or pause.

What we couldn’t find

Lead times at two of the three shops, and prices for wallets and purses. We looked at custom wallets too, but the pages we read didn’t give usable prices and lead times. We will add makers’ own figures as they list on Western Makers Hub.

Where this comes from

Every figure above was read on the page linked here, on 5 October 2026.

For makers

Do you make leather belts and goods?
